Happy 40th Anniversary to my in-laws, Wolf and Shelley!! Their three sons (actually, their three daughters-in-law) organized an all-family getaway to Big Bear for their anniversary, complete with all six grandchildren. Our girls got to play in and see snow for the very FIRST TIME! There was snow on the ground and a hill on the considerably large property, and it started to snow in earnest after we all arrived and donned our snow gear on the first day. It was magical. We had so, so, so much fun, in no particular order: playing with cousins/nieces/nephews/brothers/sisters/aunts/uncles/grandparents in the snow, having a dance party, watching comedy specials of questionable propriety, putting on tire chains, forcing off tire chains, shoveling snow, drinking wine, making pasta, playing board games, also poker?, baking brownies, taking pictures, building a snowman, toasting Jack's 5th birthday with apple cider, going out to dinner, blow drying lots of hair in the kitchen, accidentally swapping snow pants and other gear, eating the collective junk that landed on the kitchen nook table. Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude!!
From the eventful journey up:
An auspicious start with Starbucks.

Our tire chains broke, Shelley had to stop and rescue us.
