Good Night Moon

We have had a wonderful day. Which we needed. Violet went pee twice of her own volition without being wet- which is HUGE. She played well at the park and made friends. She shared her new sand toys with everyone. Look: she loves her sister and has been gentle and wonderful to her all day. She took a nap. We needed a smooth day, and Monday of a 3 day weekend was a good day for it. Bring on the week!

Violet's New Songs

Vaguely to the tune of Alouette, out of nowhere:

If you have a squirrel,
You should get a chipmunk.
If you have a squirrel,
You don't have a chipmunk.

If you have a mommy,
You will get a baby.
If you have a mommy,
You will get a baby!

Erik was singing TLC's "Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls" (no one knows why)
Here's Violet's rendition, just off the tune:

Don't go chasing birdies at the waterfall,
You might get stuck and,
you might get stuck and,
you might get stuck in the piiiiiiiig BARN!

Fashion Sense!

Check out this sassy girl's fashion sense! Rawr!

You are my sunshine.

I have had a very frustrating sort of day. Nothing important: a long wait figuring out appointments over the phone with kaiser, pictures didn't upload right, V upset her humidifier all over the floor. After quiet time I promised Violet that we'd go down and ride bikes- despite me snapping at her all day, she's been so good! But then, her bike broke. If you know a 3 y/o you know this should have caused a cataclysmic tantrum. But V? Nope. When I suggested we ride scooters instead, she stoically walked her bike back home and got her scooter. Thank you, Violet. I am so grateful for a tantrum avoided. And notice her outfit, while you're at it. Another tantrum... avoided.

A real smile

Trying to figure out how to post a picture/blog post straight from my phone. Here is a picture of a real Daphne smile to enjoy. She has succeeded in making us do very foolish things to coax one of her gorgeous feel-good inducing smiles!

Sick Sunday

Sweet Violet is still trying to kick her cough, so I'm up early with her this morning. Poor girl woke up so sad. We're using our best medicine; Diego, hot chocolate, and mommy cuddles. I hate it when my girl is sick, but I love the cuddles and mommy-love that comes with it. I've already got her cold, so I'm hoping that my milk has enough antibodies to keep teeny Daphne safe.

Daphne, 2 Months

Two whole months have gone by, Miss Daphne.
Beautiful smiling baby. Sweet, mild mannered, chubkins.
